SIALKOT, Nov 5: The Federal government has approved a project of laying the gas pipeline from Sialkot to the Export Processing Zone (EPZ) Sambrial via Bhopalwala.
Talking to newsmen here on Monday, Sialkot district Nazim Mian Naeem Javaid said the government had already allocated Rs1,250 million for this purpose.
He said the authorities concerned had taken in hand initial work in this regard.
FOUR KILLED: Four persons, including a child, were killed in different road accidents during the last 24 hours in Sialkot and Narowal districts.
Pervez of Wazirabad riding on a motorcycle (GAG-5735) was crushed to death by a speeding bus on Sialkot-Wazirabad Road near Kopra village, Daska.
On Sialkot-Daska Road, a Wapda official, Muhammad Asghar, was also killed in a road accident. He was the husband of Rukhsana Asghar, an officer of the MCB’s Chowk Imam Sahib branch.
A Christian priest, Abdul Masih, was knocked down and killed by a speeding car on the Daska-Gujranwala Road near Gotiyaan village. He was crossing the road on his bicycle when he met an accident.
Hafiz Muhammad Naeem, a minor student of Darul Aloom Naqshbandia, was crushed to death by a speeding motorcycle on the College Road, Daska city.
Police have registered separate cases against the fleeing drivers.
SHOT DEAD: Unidentified assailants late Sunday night shot dead an expatriate, Muhammad Asif, in Sialkot Saddar.
In Shaikhupura Nidokey village, Narowal district, an enraged man, Muhammad Yaqoob, clubbed to death his wife over a domestic issue. Deceased Nasreen Bibi was the mother of six children.
Police have registered separate cases.
TWO COMMIT SUICIDE: Two persons, Shams (25) of Muhallah Pindi Arayiaan, Ugoki, and Muhammad Asghar (19) of Doburji, Sialkot Saddar, on Monday committed suicide by taking poison over domestic issues.
