KARACHI, April 16: A minor girl died and her sister was injured when a wall of their school collapsed.

Reports said that Sakina, aged 7, a student of class three, and Sabiha, aged 5, a student of class one, were taking swings from the doors of a room in a primary school located in KDA Colony, Mangopir, when a wall collapsed on them.

Both the sisters were rushed to the Civil Hospital Karachi where Sakina was pronounced dead on arrival. Her sister was admitted in a serious condition for treatment, police added.

Police said that accumulated water outside the school might have weakened the wall.

In another incident, a young man died when a wall of an under-construction house fell on him in Gulshan-i-Iqbal on Wednesday.

Police said the wall fell on Qazi Ahmed, aged 27, in Zia Colony in Gulshan-i-Iqbal.

He was shifted to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital and was pronounced dead on arrival.

INJURED: A man was shot at and deprived of cash by armed men at Farooq Garden.
