New income tax return form

Published July 13, 2003

ISLAMABAD, July 12: The Central Board of Revenue issued here on Saturday a modified income tax return form with minor changes for individuals and association of persons (AOPs) for the year ending 2003.

An official announcement said the finance minister had approved the old return form with minor changes, which was already in use to facilitate taxpayers.

The changes are necessitated by the abrogation of income tax ordinance 1979, and its replacement with the new income tax ordinance 2001.

To ensure easy availability of return forms, the format is being made available to regional commissioners of income tax who will invite private printers and authorize them to print return forms strictly adhering to the proforma.

They would be authorized to sell them at reasonable price in the market. These return forms have also been placed on CBR website (www.cbr.gov.pk).
