Villagers shoot robber

SIALKOT, March 24: Two villagers killed a robber during a robbery bid near Sohawa village in Pasrur tehsil on Monday.

Four robbers were looting the people by installing a picket. When the robbers intercepted Ashiq Hussain and Muhammad Tariq, they resisted.

The robbers opened fire on them but they retaliated and shot at the robbers, killing one of them on the spot. The killed robber was later identified as Abdul Razaq. His three accomplices, however, fled. The Pasrur Sadar police shifted the body for autopsy and registered a case.

STRANGLED: Some unknown people strangled a married woman and threw her body in a drain near Kot Karaal village in Pasrur tehsil on Monday.

Mother of five, 35-year-old Rubeela Kousar was returning to her home in Nole village after meeting her parents when some unknown assailants held her and later strangled her to death. The Pasrur Sadar police have registered a case and started investigations.

STORMED: Some unidentified extortionists allegedly attacked the house of a local landlord in village Easpur near Phalora locality in Pasrur tehsil on Monday after he refused to pay them extortion money.

The extortionists demanded Rs500,000 from Muhammad Anwar, but he refused. Later, the extortionists stormed his house and resorted to indiscriminate firing and doors, windows, households items and other peripherals got riddled by bullets.

Anwar’s family members saved their lives by lying down under Charpais (cots). Later, the locals rushed to the scene on which the assailants fled by resorting to aerial firing. The Phalora police have registered a case.
