Dud missile found

ISLAMABAD, April 21: A dud missile was found in a green area here on Monday.

Police believed that it was one of the Ojhri Camp arsenal which blew up on April 10, 1988 with devastating effects.

Some labourers stumbled upon the missile in a wooded area near Sohan and informed the police. It must have pierced deep into the earth but the recent digging and construction work to widen the Islamabad Highway apparently exposed it.

Police and the bomb disposal squads rushed to the scene and cordoned off the area.

Later, the bomb disposal squads declared the missile as dud and took it away.—Staff Reporter
