DADU, April 29: Everyday increase in street crime and highway mugging are adding to miseries of people living in towns and travelling on roads of Dadu and Jamshoro. Shopkeepers are aghast over deteriorating law and order situation.

Police failed to recover three Hindu traders and a grower held by dacoits in the district. According to reports some five to six robberies are a daily feature on Indus Highway and other places.

More than a dozen street crimes and house robberies are common in Dadu, Johi, Mehar, Sehwan, Khairpur Nathan Shah, Jamshoro, Kotri, and Bhan Syedabad towns.

DPO Dadu Manzoor Hussain Khatian suspended the SHO Khairpur Nathan Shah police, Bakhat Hussain Bughio for rising crime rate and police failure to recover three kidnapped Hindu traders.

SHO Dadu town police station Ghulam Asghar Birhamani has been transferred with Bashir Ahmed Mangi replacing him.

The kidnapping of three Hindu traders Anil Kumar, Ashoni Kumar and Sunni Kumar is a challenge for DPO Dadu. However police failed to recover them even after the passage of two weeks. Grower Tasawar Hussain was kidnapped from Johi and still not recovered.

Family of Anil Kumar is not satisfied with police investigation. They have appealed to Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani to take notice of kidnapping.

Chairman Hindu Panchayat, Sehwak Ram, PPP leaders Sabhag Chand and Dileep Kumar met the MNA Rafique Ahmed Jamali and sought his help for recovery of kidnapped traders.

PPP President Minority Wing Dadu Dileep Kumar said three kidnapped traders have not been recovered from captivity of dacoits, while franchise of another Hindu trader was looted in Dadu which is matter of concern for minorities.

Citizens and shopkeepers held protest against increasing street crime and road robberies in the district.

Leader Gul Mohammad Joyo said street crime and road robberies are increasing but drive against criminal has not been launched. He threatened to observe shutter down strike in Dadu city if street crime and road robberies were not checked.

In Jamshoro district police failed to recover the kidnapped trader Moula Bux Theatho who was kidnapped from Bhan town some 22 days back.

Brother of Moula Bux, Niaz Hussain Theatho said his family has no enmity with anyone. He said businessmen observed shutter down strike but police did not recover Moula Bux.

A boy Fiaz Narejo kidnapped from Housing Society of Sindh University few days back is still not recovered. The handicapped father of Fiaz, Imdad Narejo said police did not take measures to recover his son even after the passage of 14 days.

When contacted, DPO Dadu Manzoor Hussain Khatian said the three teams headed by senior police officers have been constituted for the recovery of Hindu traders and grower. He said these teams arrested over more than two dozen suspects and claimed that police have the clue of kidnappers and soon hostages will be freed.

He said to stop road robberies, police have made a plan of patrolling on 135km of Indus Highway and National Highway.
