TOBA TEK SINGH, May 2: A man was arrested by Gojra city police on Friday on charges of desecrating Quran.

Qari Ghulam Yaseen of Jamia Chiraghia informed police that accused Sarfraz ,who used seminary toilets, was in the habit of keeping a copy of the Quran on the toilet flour while answering the call of nature.

Seminary students overpowered the accused on Friday and handed him over to police.

Police registered a case under section 295 -B and sent him to the judicial lockup.

Girl raped: A girl was allegedly forcibly raped by a youth of her village chak 287 JB Pilasour on Friday.

Shakila informed Sadar police that she was alone at home and his family was in farmland for wheat harvesting,when accused Ishaq Maseeh forced his entry into her house from outer wall and raped her on revolver point.Police were raiding for the arrest of the accused.

Forest searched: A large number of policemen belonging to police stations of Kamalia tehsil conducted a search of the second biggest forest of Punjab situated along river Ravi near Kamalia and Mian Channu on Friday.

A source disclosed that police had information about the presence of some proclaimed offenders in 14,000 acres vast forest and in the afternoon police succeeded in arresting two `criminals’.

Police did not disclose their names and kept them at some unknown place.
