PIA officer shot dead

LAHORE, May 16: A PIA officer was shot to death in the Factory Area police limits here on Friday.

Police said that Raja Shaukat Pervaiz, a senior purchase officer, left his house at Qadri Colony for his office on a motorcycle. He covered barely a few kilometers distance from his house when two motorcyclists intercepted him and injured him with a gunshot fire. He was rushed to a hospital where he died.

The police ruled out the robbery attempt as assailants had not looted anything.

The victim’s family told the police that it had no enmity.

A case has been registered against unidentified killers.

FOUR KILLED: Four persons were killed in different parts of the city on Friday.

Muhammad Ashraf and his son Sunny of Misri Shah died on the spot when a motorcycle-rickshaw they were traveling in collided with a wagon in Bhati Gate.

Elderly woman and a man in Gujjarpura and Bund Road were run over by speeding buses. They were hastened to hospitals where they succumbed to injuries.
