KARACHI, June 3: A 27-year-old worker of the Sunni Tehreek was found shot dead on Tuesday at a shrine off M. A. Jinnah Road, police said.

Risala police said they arrested one of the suspects, also an ST worker, for the murder, while another suspect was still untraceable.

They said the police on a tip-off recovered the trussed-up body of Abdul Wahab Quaderi alias Manu in a washroom at the Alam Shah Bukhari shrine in the small hours of Tuesday.

The police said they arrested Kashif Baig, 20, the caretaker of graves of ST men in the compound of the shrine.

They said Baig and his alleged accomplice, Mohammed Imran, were living in a room at the shrine. The police said the suspects killed the victim due to a dispute over a mobile phone and a motorcycle.

ST sources said both the victim and suspects were the party’s workers. They said the victim was a former personal security guard of an ST leader, Yamin Quaderi.

The body was shifted to the Civil Hospital, where sources said the victim was hit by a bullet that went through his skull.
