SAHIWAL, June 10: The Ghaziabad police, together with some villagers, shot dead two robbers in an encounter at Chak 169/9-L branch road on Tuesday morning.

Reports said four armed men, who had barricaded Chichawatni-Burewala Road by putting a wood block between Chak 168/9-L and 169/9-L, stopped four villagers (riding two motorcycles) and roped them. They snatched cash and mobile phone sets from the passersby.

In the meantime, another motorcyclist reached the spot but managed to wheel away and informed the Ghaziabad police.
