OKARA, June 21: Military farm villages were tense on Saturday after the pre-arrest bail of the Anjuman-e-Mazaraeen Punjab (AMP) general-secretary and 18 of his co-accused was cancelled. The accused have been nominated killers of tenant Javid Masih of Chak 10/4-L.

A tenant group tried to block GT Road in protest against the bail cancellation, but dispersed on the intervention of a provincial minister and local Pakistan People’s Party leaders.

Additional Sessions Judge Malik Muhammad Mubeen cancelled the bail of 19 nominated murder accused, including AMP secretary-general Mehr Abdul Sattar on Saturday, after none of them appeared in the court to prove their innocence.

Sadar Police Superintendent (Investigation) Chaudhry Zulfiqar also reached the scene.

Minister Ashraf Khan Sohna assured the protesting tenants that the case would be investigated on merit.

On the other hand, Younis Masih and others said they would block GT Road if the police do not arrest the killers of Javid Masih.
