FC soldier gunned down in Quetta

QUETTA, Aug 3: A Frontier Corps soldier was killed and three others were injured when armed men on motorcycles opened fire on them near the Askari park area of the city on Sunday.

The FC men in civvies were going to market from barracks when they came under the attack.

DIG operations Wazir Khan Nasar identified the deceased as Ghulam Abbas and the injured as Naimatullah and Arif. The name of the third victim could not be ascertained.

In another incident, some people blew up a portion of a gas pipeline in Dera Bugti.

Official sources said the saboteurs had planted explosives near the pipeline in Pirkoh area.

The supply of gas from Pirkoh fields to the Sui gas plant was suspended.
