Dera Bugti bomb blast kills three

QUETTA, Oct 19: Three Bugti tribesmen were killed and five others injured in a remote-controlled bomb blast in Dera Bugti on Sunday.

A senior police official told Dawn that the target of the bomb blast was Liaquat Ali Bugti, son of PML-Q’s MNA Mir Ahmadan Bugti.

Liaquat Bugti had parked his vehicle near the civil hospital and gone inside. After a short while a blast took place near his vehicle, killing three people.

Police and Frontier Corps personnel took the bodies and injured to the hospital.

The condition of three injured was serious.

The bomb was planted in a motorcycle that was parked near the vehicle. The deceased are said to be Liaquat Bugti’s relatives.

In March, a bomb went off in Liaquat Bugti vehicle, claiming eight lives and injuring six people. Baloch Republican Army spokesman Sarbaz Baloch claimed responsibility for the bomb blast.—Staff Correspondent
