FIA arrests alleged human trafficker

PESHAWAR Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has arrested a person allegedly involved in human smuggling by using fake immigration documents of different countries.
'The arrest was made in wake of complaint of a person who was sent illegally by the arrested person to Ukraine and deported back to Pakistan,' said Shahid Ilyas, Inspector FIA.
The arrested person has been identified as Ilyas Yousaf, who is accused of running a Visa Form Typing Center at Tehkal, the official added.
Yousaf Mashih, had lodge complaint with the FIA after which FIA started monitoring of the activities of Ilyas Yousaf.
Talking to APP, Inspector Ilyas said the raiding team recovered huge quantity of fake documents including immigration papers of Ukraine, Pakistan, Afghanistan and other documents related to education degrees, NTN certificates, attested copies of Afghanistan National Bank.
About the modus operandi of human smuggling, he said, people were sent to Ukraine via Afghanistan on fake documents for onward traveling to European countries.
He said presently the alleged human trafficker was presented before a Magistrate who handed him over to FIA on three days remand.
He expressed the hope that investigation in the case will divulge names of other members of the group involved in the crime.
