DADU, June 12: Two electricity pylons of 500kv high transmission line were damaged near the Sann railway station when bombs exploded on Sunday morning. A Wapda team led by executive engineer Taj Mohammad Soomro and assistant engineer Altaf Hussain Kalwar reached the place and initiated repair work.

An official of the Dadu grid station, Mr Aqil Ahmed, said some unidentified persons had exploded two bombs at the towers to stop power supply but both pylons were partially damaged and supply was not disrupted.

The assistant engineer of the grid station, Mr Manzoor Kakipoto, said the high transmission line was connected with the Guddu power house.

He said if the towers had fallen, the supply of power would have been closed to the entire Sindh for 15 to 20 days.

The two towers were partially damaged, he said.

DIG operations Mazhar Nawaz Shaikh and Jamshoro DPO Sikandar Magsi inspected the sites. The bomb disposal squad also visited the spots and collected parts of shrapnel.

Our Jacobabad correspondent adds: Two electricity towers of high transmission lines of 132kv were damaged when a bomb exploded near Mohammad Khan Malik village. No loss of life was reported.

The power supply to Balochistan and Kashmore district was suspended after blasts.
